David White Old Glories – Legend Series Pickups

David White kept his catalog intentionally small. Instead of offering dozens of variations, he focused on perfecting the voices that defined the golden era of electric guitar tone. Each Old Glories model was built with the same intention. Natural feel. Musical response. Vintage character that reacts to the hands as much as the amplifier.

Below are the three known Old Glories designs.

David White Old Glories 1952 Telecaster Pickups

The OG 52 set captured the punch, authority and clarity of the earliest blackguard Telecasters. These pickups were known for delivering strong fundamental notes with a wide dynamic range that responded beautifully to touch.
The bridge pickup provided bite without harshness and the neck pickup offered a warm, hollow quality that worked equally well for clean lines and driven tones.
Players described the OG 52 set as alive, reactive and full of character. It preserved the simplicity of a 1952 Telecaster while adding the musical openness that defined all Old Glories pickups.
Ideal for players who want the raw honesty of an early Tele. Country. Blues. Rock. Studio work. The OG 52 never hides the player behind it.

David White Old Glories 1959 PAF Humbucker Pickups

David White approached the PAF voice with the same dedication he brought to his single coil designs. His 1959 style humbuckers were built to recreate the sweetness, bloom and harmonic detail that made the earliest PAFs legendary.
These pickups were clear and expressive rather than dark or congested. They produced singing sustain, open midrange character and a top end that remained musical even when pushed into saturation.
The Old Glories PAF was favored by players who wanted the feel of a late 1950s humbucker without the mud that often appears in modern interpretations.
It offered the balance of warmth and clarity that defined the very best vintage Gibson instruments from the period.

David White Old Glories 1962 Stratocaster Pickups

The 1962 Stratocaster set is considered the flagship of the Old Glories line. Many players felt that this was David White at his absolute best.
The OG 62 Strat set delivered chime, depth and an almost vocal quality in all five positions. The neck pickup had the round, glassy tone associated with pre CBS Strats. The middle pickup produced a strong, musical presence that worked beautifully both alone and in the classic two and four positions. The bridge pickup balanced bite and sweetness and never became thin.
These pickups reacted to subtle changes in picking dynamics. They maintained clarity on cleans and produced a rich, touch responsive overdrive that made the guitar feel connected to the player.
For players who wanted the feel of a great early sixties Stratocaster, this was the set that defined Old Glories.
